What We Believe

The Call

Adventure Church is a non-denominational Christian church.  In a generation that is critical of organized religion, Adventure is free of church creeds, traditions and denominational distinctives that divide.  We seek to restore doctrinal purity by using the Bible, only, as the source of absolute truth.  Therefore, Scripture is recognized as the final authority in all matters of faith and practice.  In areas where the Scripture speaks, we are uncompromising.  In areas where the Scripture is silent, each believer is to be led in those areas by the Spirit of the Lord to Whom he or she is ultimately responsible.

The Approach

Adventure's weekend worship features:

  • Practical, real-life messages to help people discover real-life answers to real-life situations.

  • Modern, upbeat, fresh music to help people understand the love of God and how He relates with us today.

  • Moving dramas and multi-media presentations that relate to the message and that makes the worship event an experience.

Our goal is to create a worship atmosphere that honors God, encourages believers, and inspires unbelievers to seek God and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

We recognize some acts of worship such as singing, offerings, communion, even prayer may be foreign to the unbeliever's life experience.  But we act by faith believing such expressions of worship addressed with sensitivity can draw the unbeliever to seek understanding and ultimately his Savior.

The Faith

God eternally lives as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit-each of whom possesses, equally, all the attributes of deity and the characteristics of personality.  God, the Father, is the Creator and Ruler of the universe.

Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and was united with a true human nature by a miraculous conception and virgin birth.  Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on the cross.  He rose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death.  He ascended to Heaven and will return again someday to reign as King of kings and Lord of lords.

The Holy Spirit is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ and lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation.  The Holy Spirit uniquely gives every believer a spiritual gift for service and building up the church while providing the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance to do what is right.

The Bible is composed of sixty-six books within the Old and New Testaments, and is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs.  Scripture in its entirely originated with God and was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit.  There, Scripture speaks with the authority of God while reflecting the backgrounds, styles and vocabularies of the human authors.  The Bible is without error, and it is the unique, full and final authority on all matters of life.

Salvation is God's free gift to us, but we must accept it.  We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works.  Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God's offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin's penalty.  When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith, we are saved.
